Has anyone ever been in a position where they got a "C-", and were not allowed to retake at their school? What do we do if it's for a pre-req.? Since most of the opt. schools won't accept a "C-", will they just reject you?

Granted, my 1 C- is in a class that only a couple of the opt. schools require, but still, I'd like to apply to those couple. Thanks in advance.

Oh, and sorry if there are similar threads...I couldn't find them via search.

I got a C- in one of my O-Chem classes and I still got interviews from SUNY, SCCO, ICO, and NOVA. I believe that since a lot of undergrad schools don't have the "+/-" system opt schools consider just the letter grade not the "+/-". You really should double check and call the places you are applying to though.

My school doenst allow retakes of the same course over unless you got a F in the class. But can you take a higher lever course of the one you got a C- in? I have a friend in the same sistuation, and hes actually upgrading is 100level course with a 300 level one instead. If you have time, maybe pick it up in summer school or whatever, and just try and upgrade witha higher level course.

Some schools dont require a particular letter grade, some of them actually just look at your cumlative grade pnt average. I would just e-mail the schools your intrested in and see what they say.
