Getting a Dual Degree without a Dual Degree Program

I'm currently fortunate to be accepted at a school that does allow me to get an MPH with the MD, which is something I find myself really interested in because it allows me to work on a broader level of healthcare. However, I didn't love the school itself and next week am interviewing at a school I think I may enjoy more, but that does not provide dual degree programs.

What sort of route would I have to take to get a dual degree while attending the latter school, if I do end up liking it more than my first school?

Generally, schools allow for a year off to pursue a MPH and many schools offer an MPH as a one-year program for MD students (typically the year off is after M3). PM me for more info.
