Hi,
Im currently retaking chemistry but i feel like I might get a C, you guys think its better to get a C? or take a "W". Getting a "C" will lower my gpa but would a "W" looks as bad or worse?

Thanks.

the key words here are you "feel like" you "might" get a C, which means there's still something that can be done about it. Work as hard as you can to not get a C. Problem solved.

Well, a C and a W both look bad when you're taking a course for the second time. I agree with Tritonvision above. Sounds like there is still time to hit the game winning trifecta.

I just dropped Organic Chem (first time taking) and it will be my only W (except for a very hard class that I got talked into taking as a freshman that I didn't actually need.) By what I have been told a W doesn't really matter as long as you finish the course and don't have a ton of them. This is your seond time taking it though, so that may not look so good. What was your grade the first time? I got a C in Physics as a freshman and retook the class to improve my grade. If you got a C or so the first time and are retaking, maybe you can get away with a W. If you failed the first time I suggest staying in the course because I would think it would look worse. Maybe you should talk to an adviser at your school and see what they tell you. Also, if you have an Honors program at your school, they probably have some free tutoring offered. You should check into that as well. Good luck!
