What's the best way to get feedback from medical schools about my application if i want to improve it and reapply in the future?...email or phone call. Do many schools respond to these requests and offer feedback? I know schools are bombarded with all sorts of emails and calls on a regular basis. I'm just wondering if i'll get any responses back if i send out a generic email to all the schools who rejected me...thanks for any help.

I don't know what is the best method, but I do know schools prefer that you wait until the application cycle is over. Maybe call during late July or early August? They probably won't give you the time of day during crunch time in the application cycle.. see what your application fee buys!

Many schools allow for this. It is somewhat school specific, so I would look into how each school you applied to handle this. For example, UIC has a phone number you call that lets you speak to a "counselor" about potential areas of improvement in your application. Mayo Medical Schools allows you to contact them by phone/e-mail, but you have to do it after a certain date (May 15th I think). Other schools have you call them to set up an appointment where you can speak directly to someone in the admissions department about how to improve your application. On the other hand, many schools are still bombarded with applications and decisions that an e-mail can become easily lost.

Sending a generic e-mail to all of your schools is not, in my opinion, the best way to go about this. Find out how each school approaches this, and contact them individually.

I'd wait until the season is totally over rather than waste their time while they are so busy. Also, if you have a single chance left (waitlist, whatever) it's premature.
