I've started getting IIs but some of them have been at odd hours. For instance, I got an ii at one school at 3:40 AM.

That's such a weird time. Does this mean schools are basically not even looking at your app and sending up automated ii based on your stats? Like, who is working at 3:40 AM to send out emails?!

Programmer here. They could simply be using a queueing system to stagger the emails out over time. I doubt IIs are being given out on a fully automated basis.

Could it have something to do with their email service preferring that they don't send out mass emails at once?

It could end up looking like spam.

They just want you to wake up with a good surprise!

In fact I imagine that is how it is, the interview invite was the first med school thing that was sent to my spam folder. I would have missed it except that my phone email picked it up.

The servers work night shifts.
