Also, be aware that you should do something not-science-or-vet-med-related if for no other reason but that adcoms like to see long-term involvement in something that can get your mind away from all that. There is apparently a belief that if you do nothing but science, vet med, and animal stuff, you will burn out and not graduate. That costs the schools money. So, they like to admit people who have hobbies they spend significant amounts of time on, or who work in another area, or who take classes all through college in another subject, etc. Or at least, this is the conventional wisdom about vet school admissions.
