Getting LORS Now - Interfolio or Ask Them to Send Later?

Hello everybody! Hope all is well, 🙂.

Very quick question:

I'm leaving at the end of the month for a semester abroad and, as such, am speaking with professors about LORs now. Do you think it would be best to purchase a year on Interfolio and have them send the letters sooner OR speak with them now and contact them once I receive my AMCAS information in May?

Sooner the better. Try to get them now so you don't have to worry about them when you come back.

I would get them now. The peace of mind is probably worth the $20 or so. Also, professors are notoriously bad at deadlines. You don't want to have to remind them in May, nag them in June, nag them in July, etc. and let it delay your application.
