I wonder, do people actually do that?1) Send them a seven figure donation check
Has anyone actually gotten an R yet from this school? If so, then you might actually still be in the running for an A, since you haven't received one. If not, then you might have already been rejected, and you just won't hear until later in the cycle, if at all.I was accepted into a medical school but there is another school I interviewed at that I would like to go to more. They haven't put me on the waitlist yet but it's been 10 weeks since my interview and they still haven't gotten back to me. I have sent them an update letter a while ago and a letter of interest like 4 weeks ago. What other things would you advise doing to get in? I haven't been officially waitlisted/rejected but I have a feeling one of these is coming because other people who interviewed later than I did have gotten in. Also, is it appropriate to tell them something to the effect of "bro, I got into another med school but I like yours a lot more but I'm not ready to send a letter of intent yet?"
I don't think anyone has been rejected/waitlisted yet from the school. However, there are relatively fewer posts on the thread for this school so idk. I don't think I can name the school though without sacrificing my identity because I think they'd be pretty able to narrow me downHas anyone actually gotten an R yet from this school? Unfortunately, you are at the point in your cycle with this school where the only thing that might be effective is an update letter, which you already sent. Send another one if you have any thing significant to say. Otherwise, it is what it is. Love letters or non-binding letters of intent before the school has expressed any interest in having you as a member of the class (through being put on a WL), as you have seen, are ineffective post interview while they are seeing and accepting others.
Can you name the schools without compromising your anonymity? If so, that might be helpful.
Never mind -- it doesn't matter! The waiting is very frustrating, but look back at least year's WL Support thread and you'll realize how fortunate you are to be sitting on an A this early in the cycle, and how much better off you are than many who will not be starting med school next August. So try to sit tight and just let it play out, since, regardless of how we all like to control our own destiny, this really is out of your hands at this point, and you've already done everything you can (and then some, with respect to your letter of interest pre-WL).I don't think anyone has been rejected/waitlisted yet from the school.
