For those of you getting phone calls from schools, do they usually tend to be in the morning or afternoon? I'm just trying to guage whether I should keep my hopes up post-lunchtime. Oh, the silly games I play. 🙄

question: have a lot of schools dispensed with secondary apps and are just doing phone interviews now??

no, i'm talking about calling to accept people. i'm pretty sure interviews are done the traditional way for the most part...i haven't heard of people doing phone interviews as their main interview.

ohhhh, dumb me..thanks

i have actually heard of schools not having secondary apps and doing phone interviews instead and THEN inviting students for an actual interview -- or this could be some shady myth i've picked up along the way...thanks for the help!

I received a phone call from this school around 2pm. I was waitlisted and they called me to offer me a position in their class. Hope that helps.

haha, i agree...can i add a poll onto this thread or do i have to start a new thread? i've never tried the poll thing.

ok, i added the poll. vote away people!

Make sure your phone numbers are updated. My school called me at home, on my cell and finally reached me at work. And it was an Unknown number so make sure you don't have those blocked on your cell!

The only school that I've heard of doing that is Mayo...the other weird one I came across, Vanderbuilt only sent secondaries to those they wanted to interview this year, so if you got a secondary, then you're for sure interviewed.

Mine was an unknown number too - I almost didn't answer!

by mid-morning 6 22.22%
mid-morning to lunchtime 5 18.52%
lunchtime to midafternoon 8 29.63%
midafternoon to sundown 5 18.52%
evening 6 22.22%

I copied these numbers directly from the poll - cut and paste. The percentages are not right. Did anyone else notice this? Am I missing something?

really?? ok, gotta pick up every call, no screening...

Wouldn't the time of day depend in part on where the call originates and where the reciever is located? If I'm in Hawaii (which I'm not), then a call from NYMC will be recieved 5 hours in advance of NY time zone.

That's because I gave people the option of answering more than once because they may have gotten calls from more than one school. I was just trying to guage if adcoms tended to call at a particular time of day, but it looks like there's no trend whatsoever.

yeah, didn't think of that...but for most places it wouldn't vary that much. oh well, thanx to everyone who replied anyway...i now have it confirmed that i can just sit on pins and needles all day long! yay!!!
