Alright guys, im getting slaughtered in the angles bad....like real bad in CDP. Anyone have any tips/new strategies?I started getting like 50% of them right, then I got them up to 60-70% correct, now im back to 50%. Tips are appreciated.

It is hard to let you know what "new" strategies to use because I am not sure which ones you know. But CDP has the extra problems for angles outside of the tests. These are the ones I would practice on...This way you can do 20-30 of them and see your statistics.

1. Some use the strategy of, the faster you go the better... This works to an extent for me. Look at the angles and make a quick judgement...Which one is the largest and which one is the smallest. Then choose any other two angles to differentiate between. Choose which one is the largest and which one is the smallest. By doing these two steps you should have enough information to eliminate it down and get the correct answer.

2. Use the solutions on CDP to analyze...They show the degrees. If you missed one see what tricked you. Are you consistantly missing ones that involve angles with two short ends, one short end and a long end, etc... If there is certain ones you are missing more often than others then find what you have to do in order to compensate when you come across those types.

Anyways, just a few suggestions. I am sure others have some too.👍

i like your use of the word slaughtered. Very accurate

I'm right there with you. I think if we do really well on the other sections, it will hopefully make up for the angles. What I do that helps is look at the answers first and then the angles. It sort of helps eliminate things right off.

Good luck!!

i'm not good at the angles by any means but i can consistently get 9-10 on cdp by first looking at answer choices and comparing what's largest or smallest. then i do the "rapid glance" technique (some guy from sdn made it up) looking back and forth between the two angles as fast as you can creates a sort of "flip book", like a series of drawings on a stack of post-it notes. you can help differentiate between the two angles. if that doesn't help i move to the kaplan create a 90 or 180 degree complement/supplement angle and compare those. then if that dosnt work go with the one you think they are trying to trick you with. or just choose b

I use the rapid glance technique, It has helped me out but im still no where close to where I want to be for the angles.

yeah i would say rapid glance works best for me- but honestly it didn't really matter how much i practiced, my scores were always the sam with angles so i chose to focus on the other sections that i could actually improve in like cubes!

I was always getting 50-60% correct on CDP, never improved... its one of those sections you either got it or you don't.

I just gave up on mastering it and focused on the other sections that I knew I can be better at.

How do you guys focus on the Hole Punching? My CDP scores have started from 14 and have gone up to 17, but I'm consistently going back in Hole Punching. I dont feel I have enough time whether I use 5 or 10 minutes.

Any suggestions.

Know that hole punching on the DAT was significantly easier than CDP. I burned through that section in under 4mins because it was such a joke. If you have problems manipulating the paper in your mind, try practicing on actual paper. Visualizing what happens when making certain folds might improve your spatial ability.
