Getting some organization to pay for your research job

I'm a EE who is going to do research with a professor. I want to get paid, but don't want my prof. to take money out of his funding. I know work study is one, but I believe my prof. still has to contribute like 20%. Does anyone know of any organizations that would sponsor me?

If you are EE, I know your knowledge would be highly valuable in fields like DNA chips and nanotech stuffs that have biomedical applications. Don't worry about taking fund from the professor least paying only 20% of your salary. If he doesn't even want to pay that, he is a cheap-O. Probably someone who would milk your every efforts.
