How do I get to UVA from Maryland or Wash D.C.? Is there a train that goes to Charlottesville or an airport in that city? I don't have a car, so that rules that out.

Also, is it worth going to see UVA? I know its a good school, but maybe they already have most of the class filled.

Its Absolutely worth it to come to U.Va.

I went to UGrad here.

From DC or baltimore without a car you have two options: Rail or bus.

The greyhound bus comes in about half a mile to a mile from the SOM on main st, the rail is about 1.5-2 miles from the SOM at the Amtrak station on Main.

Come in on either, the night before preferably. Stay in the Redroof in on main st which is right by either station. Then you can either a) walk for a bit or b) take a taxi for about a $3 ride (3/4 mile or 1 mile) to the SOM.

Go to redroofinn.com to get rates and availability for that inn.

Best!

I have an interview next week as well, does anyone know if the class is relatively filled up and if they are just interviewing for waitlist spots?

what are the stats for UVA? avg mcat and gpa? I heard that UVA is a great school.

Avg MCAT is like a 32-33, and GPA is a 3.67 for overall students (not in state v out of state).

You will be interviewing for a spot in the actual class, not on the wait list.

Stay at the Red Roof inn described. You actually need not take a taxi or bus from the red roof inn to McKim Hall. The Red Roof inn is 1/6 mile from Jordan Hall, which houses McKim (actually McKim is right next to the HSL-health science library). Just walk out of the RRI (red roof inn) and you will be at a three way intersection, walk across the stress and follow the road (Jeff Park Ave) JPA down a small little hill. You will see an overhead pass, which basically houses the health science library at the bottom of the little hill on JPA. There are a set of concrete stars on the left before you walk under this pass. Go up these to the right side and into the double glass doors. You will see a bunch of huge glasss windows on the ground of the library (you can see the lib bottom floor), go into the double doors and up the stairs to the top make a right, go down the hall pass the HSL entry and the next hallway on the left is McKim hall. There you IS! 🙂
