Hey everyone, I would appreciate some input from people who have taken the DAT or are studying for it right now. Here is my dilemma:

I decided to study for the DAT over the break and go ahead and take it January 19th before school gets back in... My bio was very weak to begin with but I have a 3.9+ GPA (overall and science) which includes chem 1 and 2 along with ochem 1 and 2 BUT for some reason I'm scoring pretty low on my sciences as a whole. My QR, RC, and PAT are all 19+ but I took a Kaplan practice (Blue Book CD) yesterday and got:

Bio: 15
GChem: 15
OChem:17
:smack:

I dominated both chemistry classes in school but I am having trouble staying focused because I'm so worried about those science scores. Any advice to raise my sciences up a few points in about 10 days?? Thanks for any help...

Most people drop from the Kaplan CD tests.
I would suggest you read Kaplan book several times in the next 10 days. There is no trick to doing well in the sciences.
good luck

couldnt say it better myself... either u had an easy undergrad or ur not studying efficient enough.

u need to do more than read the book... take notes on what ur studying.. the act of transfering material to another media will help u remember... also try neumonics

if youre getting 15s with 10 days left before the test date, id highly recommend rescheduling the test date. How do you feel after completing the tests? are you confident that you know the material?

I'd suggest rescheduling too. I did it quite a few times myself and I'm glad I did.

It costs $25 but its worth it considering all the time and money it would cost having to take it again
