Let says I got accepted to dental schools. I am just signing up 12 hours to be fulltime student to maintain the scholarships. But I am really worn out and want to take next semester to study something of my interest (music composition, programming). Planning to drop Biochem II and one other because the school only allow 4 max W's during an undergrad program.

Do you think dental school would revoke their acceptance for the W's? I literally have enough credits to graduate this semester already. I only am going to attending next semester is purely due to scholarships.

Thanks!

schools accept you with the plans that you will complete the courses you put on your application. You would have to speak to the school specifically get their feedback. For instance, I was in a situation where I couldn't take a specific upper level bio class that I put on my app, I called temple, they said to replace it with another upper level bio. Each school is different.

Are you saying you'd drop them before or after the semester begins? My school has a week long grace period at the beginning of the semester where you can drop a class and it won't count against you or be on your transcript. My 18 hr schedule is tentative until I find out if I'm rejected or accepted. Depending on the outcome, classes will be dropped! Haha I'm just trying to hold my place in classes that are difficult to get into at this point.

Yea, you only get a W if you exceed that grace period your school has. Make sure to check your school's academic calendar.

I never got to thank you for your awesome DAT study guide, and I just saw your post. Just finish up your major requirements to get your diploma. Maybe, pass/fail a class if you want to have an easier semester. I have fairly easy classes left, so I am not going to but I would consider it if I was able to/ was in jeopardy of destroying my gpa. GL!

Thanks for the reply and you're welcome. I have already completed all the requirements for the major. This spring semester is just for fun. I have to get the W's to get the scholarship because If I drop before the grace period, they would recalculate my full-time status. Therefore, it is about 3 weeks after the semester begins.

The classes that I put in for next semester are very slow paced (inorganic chem, statistic for the life sciences, BCQ, and University Choir) They all together only account for 12 credit hours perfectly but Inorganic chem was filled up quickly so I couldn't follow the plan.
