Step I GI drugs- FA really sparse

I was wondering if FA was sparse on GI drugs. I read the katzung GI chapter today and there were probably 10 different drugs or more in katzung not even mentioned in first aid. Seems like there were a ****load of GI drugs but is FA sufficient? it seems like the most sparce section of FA as far as pharm goes yet. anyone insite?

Know the classic examples of PPIs (omeprazole), antihistamines (cimetidine), antimuscarinics (pirenzepine HCL), antidiarrheals (loperamide), prostaglandins (misoprostol).

Know the H. pylori treatment algorithm

Understand the effects of coxibs/ASA on the stomach

Know (in detail) the effect that -ols have on the stomach

I had at least one question on each of the items that appear above

thanks alot, what about drugs for IBS, antiemetics, 5HT agonists/antagonists in relation to GI. it was some of these ones that were no where to be found in FA thanks

IBS - I didn't have any questions. I can't imagine them asking you a question that goes beyond "serotonin drugs are used for IBS."

Antiemetics - You should know ondasetron and prochlorperazine. I had one or the other - can't remember

One more drug I forgot - metoclopramide. It may come up in a parkinsonian q.

Don't forget about all the strange effects that opiods have on GI.
