27Q MCAT (8PS, 9VR, 10BS)
3.65 cGPA
3.55 sGPA

I live in PA and would like to go to an allopathic school (doesnt matter where). Any suggestions for where I should apply?? I have LOTS of medical shadowing and volunteering experience and am currently working on getting published in a medicine journal.

Many people here will say you have no chance...but their opinion doesn't matter or count. I would give it a shot...if not, do you think you can get that MCAT up to 30?

Edit: School suggestions would be schools like Temple, Drexel, Jefferson, TCMC, Penn State and any OOS private school whose GPA/MCAT ranges you fall into on the MSAR.

In-state probably is your only shot...get to know those schools well and make yourself more than numbers. That's what I did and it worked!!

In-state or DO. Remember that the schools with lower stats are everyone with great stats' "safety schools," which means you're still competing with people who have 32+ MCAT scores and 3.7+ GPAs. I am also assuming you're planning to apply next year. If you are, in fact, just beginning to apply now or have recently submitted your primaries to some schools, it is highly unlikely. Do you have any clinical experience, btw? You mentioned volunteering and implied some research experience but without clinical experience, you're royally screwed. (FYI, shadowing is separate from clinical experience -- you need both for most schools and you absolutely need clinical experience for almost all schools.)

If you have an interest in rural med, TCMC would be very interested in you. Your ECs have to reflect that interest though.
