If you were given the option to list your class rank or not in your Dean's letter, what do you think a good cutoff rank is?

For example:
Anything above 30%, you should list it.
 
The question is "Do you want to list your class rank in the Dean's letter?"

The only options are "Yes" and "No" on the form.
 
top 50% (could mean 26% or 49%....) + great Step 1 score

is better than

36.5% + great Step 1 score

is better than

36.5% + medicore Step 1 (below the average of whatever speciality you're applying into)

my 2cents, please get some advisor input from your school!!
 
I would go ahead and put it. At least you're above average, which should only help you. I don't see how it could hurt you.
