in mcardle's disease is there any problem with glycogen breakdown in liver?

If not, why? doesn't liver also use glycogen phosphorylase?

no, no problem in the liver as glygogen phosphorylase has different subtypes and in macardle's only the subtype in muscles are affected and the one in the liver works fine. in Hers' disease (Glycogen Storage Disease Type VI) on the other hand only the subtype in the liver is affected.

hmm thanks 🙂 I think I read that in RR a couple of months ago.. thanks a lot! and sorry for my laziness

I suppose that one isn't HY..

the one in the liver works fine which is why the disease doesnt present with such severity, just muscles cramps etc. with relation to exercise.

no hypoglycemia which means livers doin pretty good.
