In late 2011 there was a lot of buzz on SDN about the proposed GME cuts.

I found this thread to be particularly informative http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=868923

I am matriculating in August 2012, and as of now the only speculation that I have been able to receive forecast the 2016 class being the first to feel the punch. I am concerned that medicine might not be the smartest path to take right now assuming that residency matching would become out of reach for a large percentage of the 2016 class.

Have any current students been updated on anything more specific as to the actual impact of the budget cuts?

I read on freerepublic.com that Obama and the LIEberals were going to make it so that doctors were paid in New Trident Layers (R).

Indeed, civil war sooner than we think.

I recently read that they were going to pit applicant against applicant in a gladiatorial style combat arena where the weapon you were given was based on your step 1 score.

The Super Committee imploded without any debt reduction plan passing.

Civil war = not caused by cuts in resident pay, anyway.

I do not pay enough attention to our government to understand what you mean by that ^. are you saying that the whole debt reduction plan was abandoned or delayed?
