Just a question about army GME and time in IRR. I had read (don't know if it is true, thus this thread) that time spent in army GME (say, a 4 year residency) would count towards time spent in IRR. Meaning that after 4 years of GME I would owe 4 years AD and then would have the option to seperate with no remaining IRR requirement. Any truth to this?

Yes, for a non-prior service person, your minimum obligation is 8 years. If your training and payback time equal to or exceed that 8 years, your commitment has been completed. If, on the other hand you had a 3 year residency and 4 year payback, you would owe one year of IRR time after leaving active duty at the 7 year mark.
