I completed my 3P year of pharmacy school and then dropped out. I had great grades (straight A's the first semester and 3 B's the second) but I thought it just wasn't for me. Now I realize that I was young and stupid and you've got to make a living some way or another and pharmacy is a great career.
Mostly why I dropped out is because most of my peers were in it for the money and I could see that greed in myself and it made me sick. Now I see that you can make great money and HELP PEOPLE in a big way.
Anyways, I'd like to go back (its been 4 years) and I don't even know if I'm eligible.... has anyone heard of a similar situation????

I have a classmate who left and came back after (I think) 3 years. Her story is a little bit different from yours but the school let her come back. She had to repeat her fisrt year though.

I think the person you want to ask this to probably works at the school you dropped out of. You know, like in Admissions, or Student Services, or something.

I would think most pharmacy schools would accept you back because most schools want the money, but they probably make you repeat the year (if it didnt go through much modification in the curriculum).

I'd ask Admissions. We had someone come back. He's had to repeat a few classes, but our school was willing to let him try again to finish.

If your school is one of those that is willing to work with you, they'd probably prefer for you to actually finish. Did you burn a lot of bridges when you left?

You might have to repeat a decent amount of classes, though, especially if the curriculum in your school has changed a lot. But if you're willing to possibly do that, I'd say go for it. It sounds like you want to go back for the right reasons.

There is like a 99.9999999999% chance that no one will even bring it up. Very few admissions committe ask people "so have you ever dropped out of pharmacy school before?" NO ONE will ask that question. So just apply and start over.

I dropped out of dental school and NO ONE asked me "so have you ever dropped out of dental school?" No one will ask that. If they did I would say YES, but why would anyone ask that question?

Just apply like everyone else is doing and you will be fine. Don't mention it...if someone ask tell them the truth but no one will ask that kind of question.

Actually listing all of your coursework is part of the PharmCAS application. And I seem to recall that exact question being part of the application (pharmacy, not dental of course).

You are making all kinds of blanket statements tonight. Actually, both Oklahoma universities (I'm not sure about others since I only applied to in state schools) flat out ask if you've been accepted to a pharmacy school before on their supplemental applications. So I'm 99.99999999999% sure that it does happen, and if you lie and get caught I would imagine you are effectively screwed.

My bad. I didn't know they asked that question on some school's application. I don't think it was asked on my app though.

well if your pharmacy school is different from your undergrad who's to say you have to mention that it even existed? You could just ignore it even happened. Ethically its wrong but depending on your situation and your character that may be an option.

Oh yeah. I mean it's not like they can run a licence check to see if someone has even held an intern license before. It's like they say, dishonest is the best policy.

I don't understand what the benefit would be to apply all over would be anyways, since OP would definitely have to repeat from the beginning. But if the school was willing to let them come back, especially if they left on fine terms, there would be no need for that.

the benefit is them not knowing that they dropped out of another program.
