I am a DC and been in practice to 2 years. Run a successful practice but my body is already breaking down. I want to go back to be a DO and maybe an OBGYN. But my GPA is awful! 2.58 science and 2.61 grad. Had two babies while in school and just didn't put forth the effort I should have. If I kill the MCAT, do I even stand a chance? Should I take science courses and nail them first? What could I do to improve chances? I hesitate to dive in knowing I'm so far from the recommended gpa. Any advice would be super helpful!!!

Your best bet is probably doing a postbac and then taking the MCAT. Some postbacs have linkage programs that give you a seat or at least get you an interview. The premed forum might be more helpful on this question.

I'm a DC been in private practice for almost 6 years and got accepted into DO school for this year's matriculating class 🙂 my GPA wasn't as detrimental as yours but there's absolutely hope for you mate

With a good personal statement, good extra-curricular activities, good shadowing and good letters of recommendation: you're gunna wanna get at least 3.0 cGPA and aim for higher than 500 for MCAT

Check out Guru Goro's guide on re-invention under the DO thread too! #Money

Private message me if you wanna know anything in particular as I'd love to help answer any questions!
