Hey guys,

I was accepted into an endodontic (root canal specialist) residency program after 2 years in private practice. I have about $45,000 dollars in debt on a debt consolidation loan with payments of $1600 a month. I never expected to go back to school so it wouldn't have been a problem to pay off with my current job. However now going back to school I will have no income.

I plan to use student loans to get through school. My question is will it be possible to get enough private loans to cover my tuition (about 20K a year), living expenses and my loan payments (yes i know I am paying one loan with another)

Has anyone had any experience going back to school already having previous debt? How where you able to manage it?

Thanks in advance.

Can you not qualify for federal loans during your residency?

Yes I can qualify for federal loans but was just unsure if i could get enough to cover living expenses and my note payment ect.
