So I am going to be a sophomore majoring in Chemistry at my institution. I have a good gpa right now (3.60).

I won't finish my biology requirement for dental school until fall semester of junior year (Fall 2010). I would get it done earlier, but I have a difficult semester as it is, and can't fit Bio in until Summer 2010, and Fall 2010.

I plan on taking the DAT 2nd semester of Junior year (Spring 2011). That leaves one semester to take extra Biology classes to prepare for the DAT. Which extra Bio courses should I take to prepare during that semester?

i would definitely suggest taking anatomy, physiology, and microbiology classes to prepare yourself for DAT plus dental school (and many schools either require them or recommend them for admissions)

I would say the most beneficial for the DAT would be genetics, physiology, and/or cell (molecular) biology.

Yeah I def agree with genetics and physiology!

Alright. I should have mentioned. I only have room for one to two classes in that semester. So I guess I should ask for the two or three most important biology classes (besides prerequisites).

If you could only do ONE, I would go with physiology. I think genetics is pretty much covered in-depth enough during bio 1 & 2...physiology on the other hand, covers so many different systems and aspects of anatomy. It seriously makes up like 7 or 8 of the 15 biology review chapters in the Kaplan Blue Book. Physiology would make studying for the DAT more like an easy review than teaching yourself new things!

agree with vlct0ria.....physiology really covers a broad category of subjects, although a genetics course makes the review way easier and you are almost guaranteed to have at least 2 genetics questions.

Thanks so much for all the of help and replies! I really appreciate it!
