Going on vacation during application cycle

I have to go overseas to visit family for a month in July, but I’m worried if I apply in June, I won’t be there in the (awesome) chance that I get an interview. I shouldn’t have problems doing the secondary applications if I get any, but I’m more worried about the interview part. Are dental school interviews ever scheduled in July/Early August? Thanks!

Depends on schools. Some schools do while others do not.

RARELY do schools interview people in July, almost always do they start in late august/early September. I interviewed at 2 different schools and both times I was part of their first interview date (9/12 and 9/29). And even in a scenario where you got an interview in July, you can always schedule sometime in August.

Take the trip, the odds of you getting an interview in July is slim to none.

Many of our committees start meeting in July as we don't get the first batch of applications until end of June. Then we have to train the faculty to interview. So relax.
