$1600 is insane!!! I actually got mine at Mckinley at the end of last semester (for an internship) and it was $630. It took all the energy I had to give the check to the receptionist. Good bye grocery money. 👎

For Pennwe's. Penn sets up a vaccine day for 1st years every year. Your vaccines are free if you are in Penn's health plan. 👍

So, please don't waste your time or money, wait for school to start and get "stuck" with everyone else.

😱 That is seriously a s**t ton of money for rabies vax. I got lucky at my undergrad and only had to pay for the first one, like $245. Luckily, athletics department covered the rest (I was a varsity athlete), though I'm not sure how...or why...

Yeah... not cool! They were all "you can take it out of your loans"... yeah sure, and add on the interest and they'll end up around $700/pop once I get around to paying them 🙄.
I found them for $250 a piece which although it's rough right now, will save me money in the long run, and I'm all about saving money 😀

I was kind of mad because the pharmaceutical company I work for gave the series for free. Three weeks before I started, they shut down the animal research center so no more vaccines 🙄

Em, you really haven't had much luck with these vaccs. I agree with you on saving money (I'm all for it myself 😉) so definitely go for the cheaper option.

haha yep! TAMU has a club team too so I'm hoping to continue fencing while in vet school. As is I'm gonna need something to vent my stress and let me tell you it works!

After getting the complete run around with my doctors office, insurance, and pharmacy I have resigned to just suck up the price of the vaccines of $700something Illinois charges and get them when I get to school. I just got tired of calling people and talking to people about the vaccines. Everyone acts like your asking for a nuclear reactor or something.

I know. I called a place and said,"Hi I'm attending veterinary school in the fall and they require students to get rabies vaccines, do you guys do those?"
Her response... "I think you're confused, they only give those to raccoons and stuff"....
I feel dumber just from having that conversation. I was literally speechless and hung up the phone.
