I am trying to find a medically related job, something that will give me clinical exposure, anything. Heres the problem, I contacted the HR department at several hospitals in my area (about 9) and asked about the credentials to get anything non-certified, non-technical, but they still require EMT certification, CNA, past work in a hospital setting. My question is did anyone go the extra mile and get their EMT certification/ Nursing assistant certification, ect to find a job. If not how did you get a job?

Thanks for all the help!

Try being a desk clerk. Last time I was at the hospital they had one dude who checked patients in and filled out insurance forms(this person was not a nurse).

You can try working as a Transporter or Registration Assistant. Meanwhile you can get some exposure to different jobs, and complete your certifications on the side.

surely you could do orderly work? I'm a med student doing theatre orderly/tech work, no qualifications necessary in my hospital.

Other ideas would be
* Receptionist
* Audiotypist- some jobs don't need experience
* Path Collector (training but usually via the employer)

Try a dialysis clinic? Not often thought of... but I didn't get any certifications and was able to get trained there. Usually you'll have better luck if you will be working there for awhile.
