Did any one use goljan's rapid review book and audio as their primary path source during their second year and do well (>235) on boards?

If you use Rapid Review Pathology as your sole path source, you are 100% absolutely positively guaranteed to F-A-I-L the USMLE. In fact, you might as well not take the exam. I am not kidding. Using Rapid Review Pathology is professional suicide when it comes to the boards.
Now, you can take the easy route and just take my advice, or you could undergo an unbelievably taxing and arduous effort in spending up to 1 full minute surfing the forum for your answer.

For second year I could see how this would have been just fine. In retrospect, it is probably what I would have done, plus my class notes. But for some reason I like to read tons of different sources (bad for focusing, so I stuck to Goljan come Step 1 studying...). In my program, the class notes were key. You should ask some M3s at your school if this was the case for them. If so, then stick to the class notes, Goljan, and Review of Pathology for some self motivational pimp sessions. If you need to look at some pictures then maybe use WebPath. To recap,
1. Class Notes <- Check on this!
2. RR Pathology
3. Review of Pathology
4. WebPath
If you have the Path Shelf, like at my school, the HY notes in Pathology PreTest and the Rapid Review at the back of FIRST AID are pretty good, imo, for that eleventh hour crunch (or whatever the phrase is, lol).
Good luck!
I listened to it like 2 times and read rapid review twice when I took step 1 last year. Honestly, If you want to do well read Brs a few times and know it well and use FA for everything else especially pharm(not kidding). And then finish up doing all of qbank and redo the ones you got wrong.
I know how it is with the Goljan audio. you listen to it and he sounds great and hes really convincing when he tells you he knows all the questions on the test, yada, yada, yada. But I didnt see any of the stuff he mentioned and i thanked God when I left the exam that i didnt rely on him and Rapid Review.
good luck

Did you take the test before the 2nd edition of RR Path came out? If so, that may be why. Not speaking from personal experience, but many people who have taken the test say that RR Path (2nd edition) was great. Honestly, I can't see them asking many path questions that aren't in that book.

There's been a lot of discussion on this --- you'd find a lot with a search. I'm probably one of the few SDN-ers who used BRS Path exclusively and it wasn't a problem.
You probably haven't ever read the new Rapid Review.I cant say off the top of my head and I dont want to give any wrong info. I used the rr that went with the audio.
it is is a good book but it is written in a way that it is specific for certain things.
That's what you get for using outdated and pirated material. Since Goljan's RR was pretty much identical to the notes he gives out, that's all I used on Step 1 and pathology was my best section on Step I USMLE & COMLEX. YMMV & FWIW & this post is worth the amount you paid for it.
It's all anecdotal.
