hello everyone, i'm new to the forum. i have goljan audio but it was sent in 24kbps format and i heard it needs to be in 96kbps to be able to listen on certain mp3 devices. does anyone know a free downloadable audio converter for this? also is goljan anti-robbins? repeatedly during his lectures he puts down robbins saying "i dare u to find this in robbins" or how he was drifting away while reading apoptosis.

You could put in an application to become a member of the OSU-COM Class of 2011 if you are having trouble hearing.

I don't know if we have the files in a different format, but the Goljan lectures I got for a few bucks off of ebay play fine and I have a mac. Now that I look at it, I think you were talking about the converter. In any case, it should still play on your computer I would think, just maybe not the mp3 player, kbps is just a quality of recording issue isn't it, not a format??

A Mac? Just use iTunes.

They play fine on the mac, it's no problem, but i wanted to convert them to an audio cd so i could listen to them on my discman.

just get an mp3 player, it'll take forever to burn the cds and you'll have close to 40 of them if you put it in WAV format to play on a cd player (unless your cd player plays mp3s of course)

Right, just go to the iTunes preferences and select Advanced. Change to MP3, and whatever bit rate you like. Then select the songs and choose Advanced --> Convert to MP3.

Might want to make a backup in case something goes wrong.

remember that those lectures are now about 5 years old. they are a great supplement (or a lifesaver for commuters) but don't rely on everything he says to be the gospel truth, especially about Robbins, since the latest edition was not yet out when those lectures were recorded.

i listened to all of the lectures throughout 2nd year while i travelled...there were a few Q's on USMLE that he helped me with, but it's not the magic bullet it once was.
