Goljan mp3 format

The Goljan audio files are in the mp3 format. I copied them to my Sandisk e250 mp3 player but the files are not playing. I can play them in the Windows media player in my computer but I was hoping that they will work in the mp3 player also. Do I have to change the file format? Any tip will be appreciated. Thanks. 🙂
