Hey Allos,

Looking for advice on a good Neuro text to purchase as a reference for the basics. I don't need anything bleeding edge, just something that I can go to as a refresher for the topics any of us cover in your standard neuro course. I have used the Haines atlas which is OK for the illustrations of pathways but has a few omissions and is generally incomplete in its presentation. I've also used Afifi and Bergman which kind of sucked IMO.

Any advice is good advice. Thanks!

This book is awesome. It's made for medical students and it's got just enough verbiage to make this an enjoyable and comprehensible read. It's devoid of a lot of the experimental details that litter more basic books like Principles of Neural Science and Neuroscience (Purves et al.). That's good an all. We used those books in my class, but I really just want to get to the point and have emphasis on the clinical stuff.

I am selling my Harrison's Neuroscience for $40 plus shipping if you want it. It's basically brand new and it's the latest edition ($67-$70 on amazon). PM me if you want/need it.
