I am looking to go to a GPR after I graduate and was wondering what a good GPR program typically requires in terms of GPA. Mine is not that great currently (sub 3.5) but I would love to go to one particularly in California. Any guidance would be great!

Are GPR’s that competitive?

All sorts of GPRs, some are very competitive and some aren't. VAs are on average the most desirable, and they are also usually extremely competitive (ex: 25 interviews given out for 3 spots)

If you're looking for a program that isn't a fifth year of dental school, gets you comfortable with procedures like molar endo, surgical extractions, implant placement etc, has assistants and hygienists, and has an environment that is positive and productive, that can be competitive. If you're looking for a program where you do fillings and prophys all day those tend to be less competitive.
