Good idea or not?

I applied to SUNY upstate, but am wondering if that was a good idea because it is a state school and I am from OR. Should I maybe just bag it and apply to MSSM or something because I would like a school in NY on my list.

A school from New York?

Mount Sinai and SUNY Upstate are both in New York State, but Manhattan and Syracuse are two very different places.

I guess my question, is is it hard to get into SUNY upstate from out of state and not worth applying unless you have phenomenol #s. I understand they are different schools, I want somewhere on the North eastern side of the US
