So I'm a freshman pre-med right now and am currently looking for a job to help pay for my college, and I am a kinesiology student who could technically graduate in 3 years. At my college, they are hiring student football equipment managers, and I was considering applying for a position there because the hospital does not tend to work well with students' schedules and is not hiring right now either. I was also helping to use it as a part of my med school apps later down the road, which I don't understand the best yet, but I was just wondering what other people's ideas were on this, if you would steer away from it due to the time commitment, and try to find a job elsewhere? I already have a research position lined up through my honors college next semester that is semi-clinical.

Thanks!

You can take that job and gain the general things that come from being an employee as well as enjoy being part of the team. Forcing it to relate to medicine somehow is discouraged. You will need to gain clinical experience at some point though, whether it be from volunteering or a job when you have more time.

If it fits your schedule and doesn’t hurt your grades, it’s totally fine to take. Med schools care more about solid academics and consistent involvement than whether every job is clinical. You can add clinical experience later.
