Good Luck on Finals

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
tomorow...orgoI...fun fun fun😱
I am so sick of studying...and i have phys final on wed.
eeeehh.
I like orgo but physics sucks.
Ok need to get back to 120 reactions i need to memorize for tomorow.
And thanks for the :luck: i'll definetly use some:laugh:

Yea finals suck. Thank God it's almost over and the excitement of Aug 1st is getting closer lol

This might sound ridiculous but I kinda miss studying. I enjoy the idea of not studying after finals but now that I am done with all the academic requirement needed to matriculate, I really miss books. Anyways.. Good Luck to all who are taking finals.....👍

I have 2 finals tomorow, but they are cake so I am not stressing - linguistics and a political science class. I have physio and psych later this week. All my classes this whole year are electives because I finished all my required courses for both my major and med school in my first three years.

I was actually going to graduate this semester, but I decided to stick around, take easy classes, and live it up instead of working.😎

Good luck you orgo takers. I loved orgo and found if you take the time to understand rather than memorize, it gets a whole lot easier.

yeah i am not good in memorization...i have to see things, and why they are there. What helps me tremendously is being a visual and former architecture major...i kinda see things in space well.
But those reactions! man the more i study them the less i remeber and the more i freak out...i acctually am in a pretty bad freak out mode lateley.
I am constantly worried/obsessed about not getting in or screwing up my GPA even more before application cycle.:scared:
Where is Dr.Phil???

These are not my words but our organic professor told us that if you decide to do well in organic chemistry, don't try to understand, just memorize. He even told us how bad he was in organic chemisry and how his grades improved when his professor told him to start memorizing rather than understanding. Funny, ha?

Finals week for me too!:luck: :luck:

wow, thats awful and goes against every thing I have experienced and every thing my professors have ever said...

yup.... Tomorrow ive got a History final... its gonna be painful. all essay 😱 Tuesday American Lit 1/2 essay :scared: . Its comforting that my finals ive already taken ive aced. Cell bio 103% due to curve, and an A in sports med... My efforts have been greatly declining after those

This might not relate to the post but have someone ever thought why are we made to perform some standard experiments in the lab to verify laws that have stood the test of time over and over again(Boyle's, Ohm's. etc), I think it's time that we stop wasting time and accept the laws without having to verify them when we already know that we are not going to get any contrary results.

physio final tomar...gross anatomy final wed...histo final friday =/

Agree, but at least the lab writeups are easy. " As expected, the results indicated that blah blah blah"

i would gladly trade your history exam for my physics😀

Agreed the writeups are easy but I would rather take something for granted which has been tested over and over again yielding the same result than try to understand the concept behind it and it works. As a matter of fact, when I mentioned that during an interview that it's easy for me to grasp the "concept", my interviewer criticized my ability as he believed that concepts don't play much role in your success as med student as much as memorization.

I got As in both of my physics w/ calc courses and I feel like I don't know any physics(the 11 on the mcat was magic.) My professors would ask the same questions on the exams that were assigned for homework so I just memorized them. No learning occured.

I'm the same way.. and if that is true than I am at a disadvantage in med school.

Anyone else have finals this week?

I have my Auditing Final on Wednesday this week. It is my very last test as an undergraduate. Unfortunately my next two days will be rough studying such a sleep inspiring class 😴 .

nice...i wish i had the same in my school...🙁

I would take you up on this if it were at all possible. History is NOT in my comfort zone. Im gettin knots in my stomach now. Im gonna end up with a B in there. Oh well

Since everybody is being kind enough to offer their help in a hypothetical situation, i guess i wouldn't hide my philanthropic(spell check advised) nature and go ahead and offer to take someone's physics exam.

looks like someone is addicted to SDN...lol..

LOL...
I am usually studying on my computer since my prof. posts notes on the blackboard...so i sneack in here every now and then to get my head a little refreshment:laugh:

its not as bad as switching windows constantly between my gmail account, the genotype spreadsheet for work and sdn. Addiction....its a sweet feeling.

Histology final - Thursday
Cancer Cell Bio final - next Tuesday

I've realized studying full time and working part time is do-able. Working full time and studying part time can lead to insanity. Good luck to all who are going through this torturous period. Especially to all the MS1's

1 down, 4 + 1 paper to go! :luck:

how was orgo? Lots of SN1 and SN2 reactions?
I wish...i acctually love the arrow pushing and all the mechanisms...at least they require some sort of understanding rather then pure memo
SN1, SN2, E1 and E2 were acctually on my last exam...But for the final my prof. went all the way through alcohols, alkenes and alkynes and ethers. I have no clue why this class is called orgo1 couse apparently it is not. Most of my exam consisted of retrosynthesis problems and reactions + a little bit of spectroscopy...i managed to do all the problems but who knows how right i did them:laugh:
His exams are insane...even my friend who is in med school now worned me about this prof (though i like him)...but that same friend got a C so i am praying i did well on the final couse my average without it was a high B.
I am counting on a generous curve (last time class average was like 42!)😳 .

yea, spectroscopy and ethers, etc should be orgo 2 I think... Do you have the same professor for Orgo2? If not then you will get a jumpstart on the material.

same professor...but i still may take orgo2 at CC at night...i am still debating over this.

finals week for me is next week

Who wants to take my Biochemistry final?

going to take my physiology final now... have your fingers crossed for me. I felt good until I took the practice test:scared:

Who wants to take my Biochemistry final?

Dude Anton's tests aren't as hard as they could be. Do you have it with Anton or someone else?

I'll study with you if you want before exam-time. Were you in-class for his review?

I have a 84.66 right now so hopefully that rounds to a 85 and I get an A- 🙂
