It seems as though the pre-medical society lacks knowledge in the area of podiatry (which for podiatric med school applicants can be quite beneficial)
However, I have shadowed two different DPMs now, both of which have mentioned how important it is for pre-med students to gain a better understanding of podiatric medicine. As a current pre-med student I could say that a good way to spread the word of podiatry would be through good literature and blogs. I myself, and a great number of my peers, enjoy reading books about the adventures of medical school or a blog that is kept by current medical students and/or residents. It is very easy to find material like this for allopathic medicine. Yet, I am having a difficult time obtaining this sort of material for podiatric medicine. Can anybody refer me to a good book written by a DPM about their adventures or a link to a good blog written by a pod student or practicing podiatrist? Thank you for your time.
