Hello, through my entire college searching journey, I had a really hard time finding low-ranked or even mid-term schools that were pretty well rounded (i.e lots of student organizations, internships, student spirit, community like feeling, the typical stuff you look for in a school) as well as having strong program/support for the biological sciences (biochemistry/microbiology/biology/chem).
Any suggestions? Because anytime I ask for some state school suggestions that fit these criteria, people tend to spew off schools like WashU, UWisconsin-Madison, UFlorida, etc. Schools that are highly-ranked and difficult to get into.

Find a school in your state that fits your budget and has the program you wish to peruse. There is no need to go gallivanting around the US and get in thousands of dollars in debt over an UG education.

I agree with the above post. Most state schools are mid-tier in all their programs, at least. The point is, even if your university is not highly ranked, as long as your stats are good, (MCAT, GPA, EC's), you will not be looked down upon because of your UG university.

The exception to this rule is the elite elite tier of medical school, and more competative MD/PhD programs.
