I never took a physiology course (only the basic biology one) and was wondering which textbook (or review book) is good for physio. I heard Human Physiology by Fox was good...any opinions?
Thank you!!!🙂

Loved Guyton & Hall in undergrad & still refer to it (along with BRS phys) in med school. Did well on MCAT.

Good luck!

Guyton is a great physio book in general, and will always be one of my default reference texts, but I think it's a little advanced for the MCAT. Great for medschool or ugrad physio courses, I don't think its good for the MCAT.

Vander, Sherman and Luciano is a better book for the MCAT, in my opinion.

I am using Wile from the Apologia homeschool/private school series... it is AP level and while not a college text very thorough and I used it in High school so I am reviewing with it...

you can order it from highschoolscience.com and it isn't 200 bucks lol

Hey,

I used Human physio by Fox for my Gen Physio course last semester and it was alright. Honestly, I would say just work really hard with the EK bio book in the physio relevant chapters rather than going into sometimes MCAT unnecessary detail that is in physio textbooks. Either way, good luck.
