Good Psychodynamic Programs?

I am planning on applying to grad schools this fall and was wondering if anyone could tell me about some good PhD/PsyD programs with strong psychodynamic focuses? I'm currently looking at CUNY, Adelphi, U Tenn and Widener, and I would love to learn of some others.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks 🙂!

I don't believe CUNY is APA acred yet. I would avoid Widener mostly due to cost.

Adelphi has had good reviews from Alumni

Maybe also look into U of Rochester as they are psychodynamic as well...and funded

Long Island University (the Ph.D. program) in Brooklyn is psychodynamic as well, and seems to enjoy a good rep around NYC and is partially funded.

CUNY is on probation, but they are still technically accredited by the APA during the probation period.

I would recommend going to a program that has both psychodynamic and CBT training (or another theoretical orientation) so that you can get well rounded training for internship and be more marketable in the real world. There are many good programs that have excellent dynamic training (including PsyD programs at pepperdine and rutgers), but also provide CBT training.

Adelphi, definitely. Of course, I'm probably somewhat biased....
