what do you guys listen to while studying?
something soothing that will help you concentrate?
or do you not listen to music at all?
I'm currently using the "Little Miss Sunshine" soundtrack. Most of the songs are instrumental, which I prefer for studying. The music is light, but has an upbeat tempo so as to not put me to sleep. Most of the songs are by Devotchka...whom I am really getting into.....😀
I find music distracting so i study w/o any..

Trance music or music in different languages.
As a classical pianist/former orchestra member, I get too caught up with classical music and it's distracting.
and radiohead's "kid A"
death metal, preferrably with satanic lyrics. really gets the study-juices pumping.![]()

Enya
Some bands/artists I study to: Jose Gonzalez, John Frusciante, Zero 7, Thievery Corporation, Alexei Murdoch, Four tet, Manitoba, Caribou, and last, but first Sufjan Stevens.
All very mellow. Let me know what you think.
I listen to a lot of ambient and mellow electronica. I don't listen to any music with lyrics while I'm studying as I find it distracting. I have a vast collection of ambient music so If you guys would like some suggestions feel free to ask.
If you're using windows, do this to get a great hidden ambient track in windows XP:
1. Go to my computer, click on windows, then C drive, then system32 folder.
2. Open OOBE folder, then click on images folder.
3. Look for an audio file called: title.wma
4. Play and enjoy.
I love that track, and it'll give you a taste for what ambient music is.
manu chaoand radiohead's "kid A"
I listen to stuff I've listened to so much it almost sounds like background noise to me now. Both of these are high on the list (Kid A was one of my earliest study albums), another example would be Wowee Zowee by Pavement because I've heard it approximately an infinite amount of times. It's my favorite😍😍😍
damn, that's some good study music. what are some good albums/songs that fall under this genre?
what i typically listen to when i study is pop music that's not in english
Love Gonzalez, including the Zero 7 stuff with him on it.
...though Sufjan Stevens is overrated...how do you write a song about Flint, without the lyrics "Bitch I'll cut you!"?
I have the best study music line up
Pirates of the Caribbean (1 and 2) soundtrack
Lord of the Rings (all of them) soundtrack
Final Fantasy X soundtrack
Final Fantasy X piano pieces
Final Fantasy IX soundtrack
Final Fantasy IX piano pieces
That's like 20 hours of solid music experience. The last four are video game soundtracks and are probably too nerdy for you to recognize. However, PotC and LotR soundtracks should do it for you.
hey inside_edition, I'm glad you like it. There's a great album by Ambient Generation called Icebreaker. Its on itunes, and is one of the best albums out there. You can actually get a bunch of the songs of the album for free, go here:

Enigma is another great band, its a mix of ambient, electronica and other genres and is very cool. All their albums are good.
If you want to listen to some great and free electronica take a look at the albums general fuzz has on his site:
http://www.generalfuzz.net/tunes.php
These should get you started.
Final Fantasy X! I loved the music from that game - I want that cd. Hey green pirate, interested in trading some cd's online?😎
Man, those Ambient Generation songs you posted are GOOOD!! I'm in love..lol. I usually listen to classical (Bond) and Enya but I really like this stuff. I wasn't too big on electronica before but that has officially changed as of tonight. I will definitely be "obtaining" those tracks..hehe 🙂 Although I am having trouble importing that Windows welcome music into my itunes. Thanks for the links!
