i'm trying to decide when to take the kaplan MCAT course (for the april 2009 test) and was wondering: is it better to

1) study "on my own" for a couple of months and then take a course that finishes right before the test date, or

2) would it be better to get the course "out of the way", and continue studying the course materials on my own until the test date?

thanks!

I would recommend going for the Kaplan now. Once it's "out of the way," you'll still have all of Kaplan's materials to help you study "on your own." Kaplan has great materials to study from and they give some good tips.

Good luck!

If you go with taking the course now, know that access to your materials does expire after a certain date. I think you should stick with the standard 3 month window for prep.
