What kind of strategies have you found to be useful when memorizing the pharmacology section of each topic? It's the hardest ones to make connections since there are so many intangible factors.

Please share your thoughts. Thanks in advance.

For me, personally, I've always found it helpful to write things out. For example, when I was memorizing the branchial arch derivatives, once I thought I had it down relatively well, I would grab a sheet of paper and write it out completely. Then I would continue studying a topic, and two hours later, write it out again. Study some more. Then write it out again. Then I would write it out again first thing that next morning, and whatever I had gotten wrong I would look up and rememorize. That always worked well for me and I think you could do that for pharmacology. I never used flashcards all that much but pharmacology seems like a perfect subject because (to me) pharmacology isn't as conceptual as it is fact-based, and flashcards tend to work well for fact-based subjects.

for me, i used studyblue.com to quickly make my own flashcards. did that only for the sections were tough like neuro or psych. did it for cardio and renal too. the act making them was more important that the reviewing.

what also helps is doing ALL the uworld pharm questions pretty much nonstop while learning them. that's a good way to make them stick (read explanations for all the answers while you are doing this)
