Dear Doctors:

I have this Gore-Tex Suturing Board to practice hand ties and all, but I can't find any descriptions on what all the gadgets on the suturing board is for. Here are all the gadgets on the board:

In the middle of the board:
1) two parallel rubber hoes simulating an incision for hand tie (this I know)
2) a cylinder with a hook in the middle for hand tie in deep/narrow spaces (this I know)

Now onto gadgets that I don't know:

Towards the top of the board:
2 clip board clips 4 inches apart with their opening end facing each other

Towards the bottom of the board:
2 plastic rings (like lifesaver candies) about the size of quarter attached to the board by rubber bands

What are these two gadgets trying to simulate?

The two rings are for practicing holding enough tension while throwing the next tie to keep from throwing an air knot. Thus the rubber bands. I was also told the clips were for clipping in a piece of synthetic material to practice using suturing hand tools with real sutures, but nobody here has seen the material for these boards in years.
