So my one mistake of undergraduate was freshmen year, I had signed up for 15 hours and one of the courses was Physics 1. My mind was not in it and I failed the first test badly. At that point, I just wanted to drop the class but my advisor said she would not recommend doing so because then I would only have 11 hours and not be a full time student. So I changed it to credit only which is grade on a Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory (S/U) scale. I missed an exam and got a U in the class.

So my question is, I got a U but it did not affect my school GPA. I then retook the course my Junior year and got an A-. Will the U be factored into the AADSAS GPA? I am so worried about this.

school stats. gpa: 3.82

Thanks.

How does one just "miss an exam"?

To be honest, at that point I was young and foolish and did not care. I had changed it to credit only and knew I had to retake it again anyways.

I think you'll be fine since you ended up w/ a good grade, but I'm sure they'll ask you about it. As long as you're truthful (what you just told me) they'll understand you're sincere and made a mistake. Good luck. 👍

Thanks. Anyone have ideas on if this will effect my GPA?

Yes, failing grades of any kind should be calculated into your AADSAS GPA.

The instructions say "Note that grades of P or Credit are not used in computing a GPA" and "Grades and credit hours for all failed courses will be included in the ADEA AADSAS GPA, even if they are not included in the GPA calculations of the transcript–issuing institution". This means that the U will be factored in, despite the course being pass/fail.
