Got an A- second semester freshman year. Is the damage irreversible?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My advice is to stop obsessing over your grades. Just do your best and everything will come out right. Also, it is just an A-. It is still an A, and that shouldn't hurt you. Now if it were a C or D, then I would start to worry.

Please, help me!

you're doomed

Seriously? I got a B in Biology my first semester of freshman year. Haven't gotten less than a 4.0 since then and now I'm going to be a senior....I have a 3.911 now. I think that works lol.

I don't know what's more sad, the people who actually do end up getting all A's but legitimiately are worried about one small slip or the people who try to impress others by saying along the lines of "oh no, my only/first ever A-/B+/B...." just to try and show off discreetly, while pretending they're upset.

My gut feeling tells me that the OP is just being facetious.

Yes, you're done! Go home. Game over.

Please don't worry over this. I got two D's my first semester. I've worked hard and now got my GPA up. You've only gotten an A-. If that's not good enough for you work harder next time.

I'm confused as to why people are still responding cereal.

Same here. Seriously... these threads are neither serious nor funny. Stop bumping this garbage. Oh wait, I just did. :smack:

Omg im in the same boat as you. I got an A instead of an A+ in advanced star wars quantum physics of chemistry. Am I doomed?

OBV....how can you handle med school if you can't get an A+ in that...

This. Agree 100%.

one question where can i take this class!?

.....Better start packing your surfboard. You'll be surfing the caribbean for the next 4 years....

There have been so many of these threads lately, the mods should start getting out their ban hammers.

These kind of threads are easily the most annoying ones on SDN. The first, satirical, A- thread was funny. They are NOT anymore...
:lock::lock::lock::lock::lock:

Thank-you all for the kind words. I will be starting at Hamburger University in Fall 2014.

Please, help me!

Damage? lol I was JUST like you freshman year. I freaked out over a B in gen Chem. But you know what? It doesn't matter. And your better off than I was if that's your only grade less than an A Freshman year. Obviously if you are worried about this, you care about your grades and work very hard. Just do well from here on out and you'll be fine. An A- is not a big deal.

Your not doomed in the sense that one A- is going to kill ur admissions chances, but the fact that you have to ask says a lot. Either you want people to say "wow, you only have one A-" in a backdoor brag kind of way, or you honestly believe that one A- will destroy ur chances for admission, in which case you clearly havn't looked into this whole med school thing close enough, because if you had, you would know that GPA is FAR from the only thing that plays into an admission decision, or you are just really really lack self confidence, or are just plane neurotic, both of which are going to cause you to burn out, if your only in year one of an 8 to 10 year process, at least.

You didn't read the thread, did you?

Sigh, the quality of trolling is definitely in decline. This is a really lame thread. I like a good troll who is entertaining but they are becoming an endangered species. This thread fails - dumb with no imagination.
