Luckily it was for financial reasons and I have a couple months to find a new job. They will help me find a new job in the university.

Should I? I live so far and it would be extremely difficult to study for the MCAT. Or should I opt for another medical job closer to home and study? I don't know how strong the letter would be given how short I worked here...

Then again I need health insurance.
:hilarious:

Priority #1 should be a job with health care coverage. A 522 on the MCAT does you no good if you get sick and need ongoing care that can bankrupt you.

You don't need a LOR from a job you held for only a short time.

Could you move closer to the university if they found a new position for you? The time and money you save by shortening your commute could be put toward the MCAT prep?

Do you plan to apply in 2020?

Yes, I will probably move closer and at least try to get another job with their help.

Since I will have held the position for over a year, i think I will ask for a letter. That being said I will be applying in 2020. What do I do with the letter? Lol... Is there somewhere it’s stored until you apply? Kind of a silly question by my coworker told me to ask for it before I leave.

Question... What do I do if I'm still very undecided about medical vs pharmacy school. Should I even bring this up to the MD when meeting with him about the letter?

Thanks!

Definitely not smart now that I'm thinking about it lol. :')

Apply for pharmacy jobs. That made my decision quickly

All my coordinator jobs are still under review but my pharm tech app was denied. Makes sense because my cover letter mentioned nothing of doing pharmacy. But still.

Retail pharmacy or hospital?
Hospital is very hard to break into

Hospital.
Worse comes to worse I’ll apply to retail pharm jobs. I can’t believe I’m holding it together rn.

Yeah it is hard to get hospital jobs with no experience. Other issue with pharmacy is that it is a super saturated market and most jobs are in retail. Retail sucks.

Right and when/if I get another coordinator job I won’t have time to study. ☹️

So I’ve decided after the position I’ll be moving back to Chicago to study and be with family. This dude is a joke and I can’t be alone, it just isn’t healthy.☺️

Well I applied like crazy within the school and now my apps are under departmental review. I've never been in a position where I didn't want a job.
