That will definitely count there... they are really big on Native Indian issues. I got a brochure from them sometime last week and that brochure contained information about their outreach programs and that was a big issue.

There's little point in taking a class next spring semester unless an acceptance has been granted this Fall.

Although I am very confident in my application, I'm not sure they'll accept me before the time comes to register for a course next spring.

I guess you could register for the course and drop it later if you don't get in (or maybe stick it out if it turns out to be interesting)...

I just got an email. I was sending an email to my mother and that one came in at the same time 🙂. I'm so excited. I think I'm going to ask to come on Sept. 7, the first day they're interviewing. Not sure though.

So I just got the Uni of Michigan secondary!! Totally random since everyone else seems to have gotten it weeks and weeks ago! I wasn't expecting that but I am SOOOO excited that I actually got through their screening! AHH! 😀😀 and I am FINALLY complete at GW so I'll keep my fingers crossed for an interview. YAY! (im so excited about a secondary, i wonder how it'll be if i get an interview somewhere! HA!)

I submitted on 7/16 and got verified on 7/28...although I expect the processing time to continue to get longer as more people hop on the bandwagon.

There is something to be said about how crapshoot this process is. Its funny how the schools you think won't interview you, sometimes do, and the one's you think you have a shot at, sometimes don't give you the time of day. Such is the ways and randomness of applying to med school though. 😀

Now I only wish hopkins was relocated out of the ghetto and into a great place like UCI. Damn, that's a great idea...they should switch! 🙄 Seriously tho, what have you guys heard about people actually going to Hopkins med? It's the best school for many things, but it's kinda discouraging cause all I hear from anyone that goes there or has visited is "The program is great, but it's just not worth it overall because of the terrible location." Any better opinions out there *pleeease*?

I visited Hopkins earlier this year and it really isn't THAT bad. I mean you shouldn't do silly things and ask for trouble but its not as bad as its made out to be. My PI lived there for years and she never had any trouble.

Did you guys ever receive "file complete" emails from JHU prior to receiving invites? All my stuff should have been in about two weeks ago, and I haven't heard anything yet...

Ok, so I got an interview at Indiana, but I got it just three days after i RECEIVED my secondary- the evaluation forms are still with my recommenders- is this strange?

After submitting the Columbia secondary online and paying by credit card, all you have to do to complete your file is mail in the photo document and letters of recommendation, right? They don't want a hard copy of the application mailed in or a credit card payment receipt or anything.....and I know they don't want transcripts or MCAT scores anymore.....

Also, this is a dumb question, but they say to mail in a passport size photo....which I believe is 2" x 2". But then on the photo document, it says "Paste your photo cut to size in this space," and the space is a rectangle. My picture is a tiny bit too wide and way too short lengthwise if it is to fill this entire space. Should I worry about this? Or at least cut the width so that it fits entirely in the space but doesn't fill it completely.....I know this is anal, but little things like this bother me.

They aren't going to care if your picture doesn't fit perfectly in the outline.

I got a file completion email on the 8th, and got an invite today. I sent in my secondary almost a month before that, so it took them awhile to notify me that I was complete.

Mine was approx. 2x2, not perfect... and I taped it. 😛

Not at all. ONLY those who get an interview get a secondary from Indiana.

In fact, I got my interview offer three days before the secondary showed up. Just make sure the secondary is done and arrives at IU before your interview.
