Hi Shaymonte924, Do you mind sharing your stats ,and interview detatils. I spoke to the advisor there, and he said there is no min GPA or min GRE they look for. After that it is even more confusing what to expect. How competitive is that school. IT is one of my top choices, as i live close to that.

Thanks.

My stats were definitely not the best .3.5 CGPA, 3.7 pre req (after retakes governors state calculated it, but ptcas had me at a 3.3 because the they average grades). My GRE was not the best lol like combined a 292 I think.

Interview I was asked super basic questions. Why PT, Why GSU, about my mentors -only thing is they want specific examples and wabt you to expand on their answers. If it is your top choice I would schedule a 1 on 1 tour with Dr. Diers to see the program, ask questions and stand out a bit. Its what I did and it helped!

Hey! I can honestly say I have no idea what my final stats were! Going into applying to PT schools I knew I had to retake some pre-req classes. Do not under estimate how competitive getting into school is. I think GSU is getting more competitive because it is so inexpensive compared to other IL schools. Most people who decline going there is because they want to be in the city and choose a school with an affiliated Hospital like UIC and Northwestern. I just want to be a DPT so those logistics did not matter to me. If you have any C's in your pre-reqs retake them! So I was retaking two as I was applying to schools. And I had down in PTCAS that I would retake more. My GRE was just above 300 maybe 304. But my PT experience is something I pride myself on. I had a lot of hours in inpatient, outpatient, special needs etc. I also had awesome letters of recommendation along with a strong personal statement. Some schools will say there is no minimum GPA/ GRE but they will say that the average GPA of people entering their program is a 3.5 and Avg GRE is 300. So that helps you get perspective on what you need to do. I had on the lower end GPA even though I do not recall it exactly. I got 4 interviews NYU, UNE, GSU, USciences. I got wait listed on all schools I applied to (10). I got accepted at Touro College in NY and GSU after being waitlisted. That is another thing. Do not underestimate the power of being waitlisted! Good things come to those who wait! I am super excited to start GSU in the Summer. I knew I wanted to go there for awhile so I took their Orientation to PT course there. Something else I think that helped me when I was on the wait list. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey does anyone know the history of wait list acceptances for GSU? I am currently #3 on the wait list and classes start in about 4 weeks. Thanks!

I know one of our classmates just dropped out to go to a different school so hopefully that helps you out!
