Hey guys,
I've signed up to SDN for a while, but never really posted (lurker ftw??)

Anyways, I'm a Canadian applicant in Vancouver looking to apply to the USA for schools.

I submitted my AADSAS last week, and AADSAS calculated my GPA to be
Science: 3.04 inc +/- and 3.06 w/o +/-
Non-Sci: 3.57 inc +/- and 3.68 w/o +/-
Total: 3.15 inc +/- and 3.19 w/o +/-

The stupid thing is, at my school UBC, my GPA would be a 3.55 overall, since they use percentage grades, and C+'s and B+'s aren't given 2.00 and 3.00's respectively, and I have a fair bit of those LOL!

I've just gotten my B.Sc in Chemistry last month, and so far I've only taken the Canadian DAT (twice).

My second attempt's scores are as follows:
RC 25
Bio 22
Chem 21
TS 22
AA 23
PAT 21
Carving 17 🙁

I've applied to BU, NYU, Tufts, Temple, U of Pacific, and UPenn (dunno what I was thinking with Penn, probably a "oh well might as well give it a shot" attitude).

My question is, would you guys think I have a decent chance at getting an interview? I have 3 LORs, 2 from profs, one from a post-doc I worked with, I did dental experience with my dad (so can't use him as a letter), and have a decent amount of ECs.

I know UofPacific doesnt take Canadian DAT scores, so I plan on writing the American DAT on July 9th, but I've barely started studying because I'm currently taking more courses at my school UBC (Psych and Stats, cuz some schools recommend those courses).

I'm afraid my GPA and my crappy carving score will bring down my chances. I've heard from some people that USA schools DONT look at carving, while others say they DO look at carving, so I'm totally confused...

where'd you see that pacific doesn't accept cdn dat?

You sound like myself without my Master's degree.

There really isn't any point in worrying. Just try your best from now on, do well on the DAT, and keep moving forward.
