Soo... My first semester of undergrad, I received a 3.4. Second semester, 3.2 first semester of sophomore year 3.1 and end of sophomore year a 3.0. So now my GPA is a 3.0. I am a junior now but I'm going to stay an extra year to raise my GPA back up to a 3.5 both overall and science by taking upper-level science courses and other electives required for graduation. Will it look bad when dental schools look at my GPA starting off good, then dropping, then rising again? My first two years starting undergrad were rough that's why there was a drop in my GPA.

Some schools will reject you because of that but as long as you are able to raise your GPA to the mid 3's by trend of your senior year, a majority of schools won't write you off.

I had a semester (end of sophomore year or beginning of junior year I forget) where I actually got a 2.7 GPA. I was able to bring it up by the end of my senior year and I'm currrently attending dental school.

Work your butt off, get a strong DAT score, and continue to get relevant dental experience
